The Ridge, Shimla

The Ridge road is a large open space, located in the heart of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated along the Mall Road, which is the famous shopping center of Shimla. Most major places of Shimla like Snowdon, Mall, Jakhoo hill, etc. are connected through the Ridge. It runs east to west alongside the Mall Road, and joins it at the Scandal Point on the west side. On the east side, The Ridge road leads to Lakkar Bazaar, a wooden crafts market. It's the major landmark and the most easily recognized face of the hill station.
 
The Ridge is famous for the various government functions and fairs that are held here. The most famous festival that is held at the Ridge is the Summer Festival. This famous festival is held during the months of April or May and the whole of Shimla comes alive with colors and a riot of activities. Prominent landmarks on The Ridge include Christ Church, a neo-Gothic structure built in the 1850s, and a Tudorbethan-styled library building.

Christ Church, Shimla

"Christ Church, Shimla" is the second oldest church in North India, after St John's Church in Meerut.The church looks absolutely magical during night when lights placed at strategic corners illuminate this beautiful church. Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh (Panoramic View)

'Khajjiar' is a Hill Station in Chamba District, Himachal Pradesh, India, located approximately 24 km from Dalhousie. The hill station is surrounded by meadows and forests. It is about 6,500 feet (2,000 m) above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas and peaks can be seen in the distance...

On 7 July 1992, Mr. Willy T. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India brought 'Khajjiar' on the world tourism map by calling it "Mini Switzerland"...

'Khajjiar' to 'Dainkund' is a 3.5 kilometre easy to moderate trek. The trek starts 6 kilometres from Khajjiar on the Dalhousie-Khajjiar road and ends at Pholani Devi Temple at Dainkund. This trek with a well-defined trail and moderate ascent is an excellent trek for beginners and children. The trek offers excellent views and a beautiful camping site...
